Thanks be to God, I thought the celebration of our feast day was beautiful! The litany to Saint Gabriel and the extra flowers and decorations helped add to the solemnity of the liturgy. I know several people mentioned they enjoyed gathering after Mass for some good food and time together, especially with all the restrictions that have taken place over the last few months. I really enjoyed spending time with all after the Masses as well. Thank you very much to all those helped with the liturgies, and with the setup, distribution, and takedown of our celebration outside. It was a beautiful and gorgeous fall day as well, thanks be to God. Saint Gabriel, continue to pray for us and help us to be those holy people you call us to be and that holy parish you call us to be!
The Lord has put on my heart at this time as well: let’s really pray for humility, kindness, and unity during this time in our society and the church. With the recent nomination of a Supreme Court Justice and as our elections get closer I have seen even more acts of hatred, division, and violence. These are evil and not from God. The devil tries to influence them. We should all pray for and work towards being kind and humble in our interactions with others, and should work toward unity in our society and the church. We should pray for our political leaders and those running for office that they be humble, kind, just, and live as true servants. Let’s try to live like Jesus. Let’s keep these intentions and our country
